This cookbook will reveal why recipes from other Chinese cookbooks don't taste as good as better restaurant Chinese. The recipes, ingredients and techniques are clearly explained and easy to follow. The ingredients can be found in grocery stores in most mid and large communities. In my experience,mainstream grocers aren't the best source. If you can't find the ingredients locally you will online. Enjoy.
This is a delightful book will put together except for the print: instructions and ingredients etc. are all in a smaller VERY light ink print which is difficult to read.
The book is very nice, recipes, pictures, good content. I got the kindle edition and find it very difficult to navigate back and forth to follow the ‘more information’ links....so one star down for that....
Love this book! I keep it out because both my husband (he doesn't even cook) and I to refer to and try something new. Recipes are on point and their Youtube Channel is wonderful!
So many kudos to this talented pair... where do I start?? I've loved watching them on Youtube and now their cookbook has become one of our kitchen's top go-to sources for delicious recipes. My husband and I are so picky about Chinese takeaway, we don't typically order in. Now, we just make our favorite and new ones at home - thanks to Amy and Julie. Can't wait for the next book!
This book offered recipes not common in other Chinese cookbooks, in addition to the "secret" of bicarbonate in meat tenderization- something frequently omitted from most contemporary Chinese cookbooks. Overall, it was a refreshing read.
