Intriguing non-fiction for those interested in psychology, especially having to do with evolution and mating. Lots of interesting facts and studies. You'll learn a lot about your species and yourself. Buss does tend to be a little repetitive with his writing at times and some topics are over done, but that is often how scientific writing works: say what you're going to say, say it, then say what you've said. You can definitely see this method in his writing but, overall it is well written and kept my attention. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I think it's important for us all to know what science has learned about our own species, our own minds and subconciences.

Had to buy this for a class. Interesting read, Buss discusses things in everyday language while keeping you engrossed in the story. I learned some interesting things about mating and sexuality. The one drawback is that there were a couple chapters I felt were too long and a bit boring. Overall, a good read.

David Buss is absolutely amazing. No, this is not a self help guide for learning how to pick up or attract the opposite sex. There is no advice here on how to handle your wife or girlfriend. This is also not a polemic rant on either why women are supposed to stay in the kitchen or how men and women are still unequal. This is pure, unadultered, exhaustively researched and scientific information on differences between men and women, as well as similarities, as well as what drives us to seek out sex and why.I was intrigued by this book and its premise after reading some articles the author wrote as sources for a paper I did on attraction. Purchasing this book was not a disappoint at all, and I only hope his other books are just as insightful, informative and well-written as this one.
